Arkadiusz Grzeczka

A graduate of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, he began gaining practical experience in veterinary clinics during his studies, with particular focus on the work of cardiology specialists — a field that eventually became his main professional interest.

His professional passion revolves around cardiovascular diseases in dogs and cats. From the beginning of his career, he has been committed to deepening his knowledge in this area by regularly attending conferences and industry events, including the PAVC (Polish Association of Veterinary Cardiology) Congress. He combines theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, continuously improving his diagnostic and therapeutic skills in the field of cardiology.

He is currently pursuing a PhD project under the prestigious “Pearls of Science II” program. His research focuses on the role of DNA methylation in myxomatous mitral valve disease in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels — one of the most commonly diagnosed heart diseases in small dog breeds. This project merges cutting-edge scientific research with practical clinical application, aiming to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying this condition.

As part of his academic development, he also completed an international research internship at the renowned Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York. There, he gained expertise in minimally invasive interventional cardiology, including catheter-based techniques that represent the future of treating many cardiovascular conditions in veterinary medicine.

His goal is to further expand his qualifications and obtain a specialization in veterinary cardiology. He plans to participate in advanced courses and training both in Poland and abroad in order to provide his patients with care based on the latest medical standards and advancements.

His work is characterized by meticulousness, dedication, and scientific curiosity, which he successfully translates into daily clinical practice.

Ixodes ticks and fleas are parasites that can pose a health risk to our pets. Ixodes ticks can transmit toxoplasmosis (babesiosis), Lyme and Ehrlich tick-borne diseases, causing anemia and general toxic poisoning in dogs. Fleas, on the other hand, cause dermatitis, severe itching and can sometimes be a source of tapeworm infection (heartworm disease).
